What the extension does

JobsiteOn's Chrome companion puts Inbox and Today beside your browser tabs. It shows customer messages, approvals, requests, tasks and photo activity from your workspace. Open an item to continue in the full JobsiteOn app.

Install it from JobsiteOn on the Chrome Web Store with Add to Chrome. It requires desktop Chrome 120 or later and a JobsiteOn account. Your workspace's plan and role apply as usual.

Open the JobsiteOn toolbar button and choose Sign in to JobsiteOn. Finish sign-in and approve access in the JobsiteOn window. Your password is never entered into the extension. Sign in again after restarting Chrome.

The extension creates its own session, listed as JobsiteOn for Chrome in Sign-In & Security. Signing out of the extension ends that session without signing out of the website. You can also revoke it from Sign-In & Security. The extension checks for changes about once a minute while Chrome is running. Chrome may delay background checks while your computer is asleep.

Inbox and Today

Inbox combines the same action inbox and unread photo notifications as the Mac companion. Choose All, Messages, Tasks or Photos. Tasks includes approvals and requests. Mark all seen clears the local new-item badge. It does not complete tasks or mark customer messages read. A photo notification's Mark read button updates its read state across JobsiteOn.

Today shows the daily figures your role can access. Select a card to open the related page. The side-panel button keeps the companion visible while you work in another tab. The default keyboard shortcut is Alt+Shift+J. You can change it in Chrome's extension keyboard shortcuts.

Notifications and quiet hours

Desktop notifications start off. Turn them on in Settings and approve Chrome's permission request. The extension also respects your JobsiteOn desktop notification categories. A notification says new activity is waiting, without showing customer names or message content.

Choose quiet hours using your computer's time, or pause alerts for one hour. Each feed starts with a quiet first load. If photo activity fails to load and then recovers, its old items do not trigger alerts. Notifications require Chrome to be running and allowed to show notifications by your computer.

Plans bought through Apple

A plan bought in the iPhone or Mac App Store app applies to the same workspace in Chrome. JobsiteOn verifies it through CashSDK. The extension shows Billed through Apple for those plans. Owners and admins can open billing settings from Manage plan. Apple-managed subscriptions stay managed through Apple; installing the extension does not create another subscription.

Plan and role changes apply at the next successful account refresh, even when the activity feed cannot load. Viewers can read activity but cannot mark photo notifications read. Missing plan access also keeps write actions unavailable.

Privacy and troubleshooting

Sharing error reports with Sentry and usage statistics with Google Analytics are separate choices. Both start off everywhere. Neither sends browsing history, names, messages or other workspace content. Firebase is not used. Turning a switch off stops future reports.

Sign-in credentials and recent workspace data stay in Chrome's session memory, not Chrome Sync or persistent extension storage. Only preferences are saved between browser sessions. Removing the extension clears them.

If a refresh fails, the panel labels the error and keeps its last successful snapshot. A failed Today or photo feed leaves the rest of the Inbox available. Use Refresh to try again. An expired or revoked session clears the workspace data and asks you to sign in again. A workspace access refusal hides its contents. Read the full Privacy Policy.

Signing out clears this extension's private data immediately. If the server cannot be reached, the extension tells you it could not confirm the server session ended. Once online, remove the Chrome session from JobsiteOn's Sign-In & Security settings.
