What this guide covers

This guide explains how to export your contact list from JobsiteOn as a CSV file. You will learn how to export all contacts or a filtered subset and what fields are included in the export.

When to export contacts

Common reasons for exporting:

  • Creating a mailing list for an external email marketing tool.
  • Importing contacts into accounting software.
  • Backing up your customer database.
  • Sharing a customer list with a partner or subcontractor.
  • Analyzing customer data in a spreadsheet.

How to export contacts

  1. Navigate to /contacts.
  2. Optionally apply filters or tags to narrow the list to the contacts you want to export.
  3. Click Export in the action bar above the list.
  4. Choose CSV as the export format.
  5. The file downloads to your device.

What the export includes

The CSV file contains one row per contact with the following columns:

Column Description
First Name Contact first name
Last Name Contact last name
Company Company name
Email Primary email address
Phone Primary phone number
Address Full billing address
Tags Comma-separated list of tags
Created Date the contact was created

Tip: Apply tag or search filters before exporting to create targeted lists. For example, export only contacts tagged "Commercial" for a B2B mailing list.

Exporting a filtered list

The export respects your current filters:

  1. Apply any combination of search, tag, or status filters.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Only the contacts matching your current filters are included in the file.

This is useful for creating segmented lists without manually editing the CSV afterward.

Opening the exported file

The CSV file can be opened in:

  • Microsoft Excel — Double-click the file or use File > Open.
  • Google Sheets — Upload to Google Drive and open with Sheets.
  • Numbers (Mac) — Double-click the file.
  • Any text editor — For raw CSV viewing.

Note: Exported data is a snapshot at the time of download. Changes made to contacts after exporting are not reflected in the file.

Best practices

  • Export regularly as a backup of your customer database.
  • Use filters to create targeted exports for specific purposes.
  • Review the exported file before sharing to ensure no sensitive information is included unintentionally.
  • Keep exported files in a secure location, especially if they contain personal customer data.
