What this guide covers

The activity log on a contact record shows a chronological timeline of every interaction, update, and event tied to that contact. This guide explains how to read the log, filter events, and use it for accountability.

View the activity log

Open any contact and scroll down to the Activity section in the sidebar. The log displays events in reverse chronological order with the most recent activity at the top.

Event types in the log

The activity log tracks these event types:

Event Description
Email sent An email was sent to or received from this contact
Job created A new job was created for this contact
Job status changed A job moved to a new status (e.g., In Progress)
Quote sent A quote was sent to this contact
Quote accepted/declined The contact responded to a quote
Invoice sent An invoice was sent to this contact
Payment received A payment was recorded against an invoice
Note added A team member added an internal note
Contact updated Contact details were edited

Filter activity events

Click the filter icon at the top of the activity section to narrow down events by type. Select one or more event categories to focus on specific interactions.

Tip: Use filters to quickly find the last time you communicated with a contact. Filter by "Email sent" to see all outbound messages.

Who performed the action

Each log entry shows the team member who performed the action, the timestamp, and a brief description. Click any entry to navigate to the related record (job, invoice, quote, or conversation).

Note: System-generated events like automated payment reminders show "System" as the actor instead of a team member name.
