What this guide covers

This guide explains how to link contacts to properties and jobs in JobsiteOn. You will learn how to create these links, why they matter, and how linked records improve your workflow.

Why linking matters

Linking contacts to properties and jobs creates a relationship chain:

These links enable accurate billing, efficient dispatching, and complete customer history.

Linking a contact to a property

From the contact detail page

  1. Open the contact at /contacts/[slug].
  2. Click the Properties tab.
  3. Click Link Property.
  4. Search for an existing property by address.
  5. Select the property. The link is saved immediately.

From the property detail page

  1. Open the property at /properties/[slug].
  2. In the Contacts section, click Link Contact.
  3. Search for the contact by name.
  4. Select the contact to create the link.

Linking a contact to a job

Contacts are linked to jobs during job creation:

  1. Navigate to /jobs/new.
  2. In the Contact field, search for and select the customer.
  3. The contact is now linked to the job.

You can also change the linked contact on an existing job by editing it.

Tip: Link both the contact and the property when creating a job. This creates the fullest possible relationship chain for your records.

Unlinking records

  1. Open the contact detail page.
  2. Go to the Properties tab.
  3. Click the Unlink icon next to the property.
  4. Confirm the action.

Unlinking does not delete either record. It only removes the relationship between them.

Note: Unlinking a contact from a property does not affect jobs that were already created with both linked. Existing jobs maintain their own contact and property associations.
