Set Your Default Date Filter
Save your preferred dashboard date range so it loads automatically every time you visit the dashboard.
What this guide covers
This guide shows you how to set a default date filter for your dashboard so you do not have to select it manually every time you log in.
How the default filter works
When you visit the dashboard, JobsiteOn loads the last date range you used during your current session. However, when you start a new session (after logging in fresh), the dashboard defaults to "This Month."
You can change this behavior using a bookmark.
Setting your default via bookmark
- Open the dashboard
- Select your preferred date range from the filter dropdown
- The URL updates to include your date selection
- Bookmark this URL in your browser
- Use the bookmark as your primary way to open the dashboard

Tip: Name your bookmark clearly (e.g., "Dashboard - Today" or "Dashboard - This Quarter") so you know which filter it uses.
Recommended defaults by role
| Role | Recommended default |
|---|---|
| Owner | This Month (broad business overview) |
| Dispatcher | Today (focus on immediate work) |
| Technician | Today (focus on assigned work) |
| Office Manager | This Week (balance between detail and overview) |

Multiple bookmarks for different contexts
Consider creating multiple dashboard bookmarks for different situations:
- Morning check-in -- Dashboard filtered to Today
- Weekly meeting prep -- Dashboard filtered to This Week
- Monthly review -- Dashboard filtered to This Month
Note: The dashboard URL includes both the start and end dates. If you bookmark a custom range like "March 1-15", that exact range will load -- it does not adjust to the current date. Use preset ranges like "Today" or "This Month" for bookmarks that stay current.
