What this guide covers

This guide explains how to use the date range filter on your JobsiteOn dashboard. You will learn about preset ranges, custom date selection, how filtering affects every section of the dashboard, and how to bookmark a filtered view.

Where to find the date filter

The date range filter button is in the top-right corner of the dashboard header, next to the greeting and current date display.

Available preset ranges

Click the date range button to see these presets:

Preset Date range covered
Today Current day only
This Week Monday through today
This Month First day through last day of current month
Last Month Full previous calendar month
This Quarter Current three-month quarter
This Year January 1 through today
Last 30 Days Rolling 30-day window
Last 90 Days Rolling 90-day window

Tip: Use "Today" for your morning check-in to see what is on the schedule. Switch to "This Month" for weekly team meetings and "This Quarter" for business reviews.

Selecting a custom range

  1. Click the date range button
  2. Select Custom at the bottom of the preset list
  3. A calendar picker appears with two months side by side
  4. Click the start date, then click the end date
  5. Click Apply

What changes when you filter

Every data-driven section on the dashboard respects the selected date range:

  • Revenue card -- Recalculates to show revenue for the new period
  • Pending Quotes card -- Filters to quotes created in the period
  • Outstanding Invoices card -- Shows invoices created in the period
  • Job Pipeline -- Filters pipeline stages to the selected period
  • Active Jobs table -- Shows jobs active during the period

Note: Sparklines on KPI cards always show six months of history regardless of the selected range. The sparkline provides long-term context while the headline number reflects the filtered period.

The URL updates with your selection

When you change the date range, the browser URL updates to include the selected dates. This means you can:

  • Bookmark the URL to return to the same dashboard view later
  • Share the URL with a colleague to show them the same data
  • Use browser back to return to your previous date selection

Practical filter scenarios

Scenario Recommended filter
Morning standup: what is on the plate today Today
Weekly team meeting performance review This Week
Monthly revenue tracking This Month
Comparing this month to last month Switch between This Month and Last Month
Quarterly business review This Quarter
Year-to-date performance snapshot This Year

Tip: Get in the habit of switching filters during different parts of your day. Start with "Today" in the morning, check "This Week" at midday, and review "This Month" before leaving.
