What this guide covers

This guide explains how the activity feed on the dashboard works. You will learn what events appear in the feed, how to filter it, and how to use it to stay on top of your team's daily operations without checking every module individually.

Where to find the activity feed

The activity feed is in the center section of your dashboard, below the KPI cards and pipeline. It shows a chronological list of recent events.

Screenshot: Activity feed section on the dashboard showing five recent entries: "Sarah completed job #1042 - Water heater install", "Invoice #2087 was paid ($3,200)", "New quote sent to Mike Rodriguez", "Liam assigned to job #1045", and "New request from website contact form"

Events that appear in the feed

The activity feed captures events across every module:

Category Events shown
Jobs Job created, status changed, assigned, completed, overdue
Invoices Invoice created, sent, viewed by customer, paid, overdue
Quotes Quote created, sent, viewed, accepted, declined
Schedule Event created, rescheduled, cancelled
Inbox New message received, reply sent
Team Member invited, joined, role changed
Requests New request received, converted to job

Anatomy of a feed entry

Each entry includes:

  • Icon -- Indicates the event category (job wrench, invoice dollar sign, etc.)
  • Description -- What happened in plain language
  • Who -- The team member or customer involved
  • When -- Relative timestamp ("5 minutes ago", "1 hour ago")
  • Link -- Click the entry to jump to the related record

Animation: A new activity feed entry sliding in at the top of the list with a subtle highlight animation, showing "Invoice #2088 was paid ($1,500)" with the highlight fading after 2 seconds

Filtering the activity feed

If the feed is busy, you can filter it to show only the event categories you care about.

  1. Look for the filter icons above the activity feed
  2. Toggle categories on or off: Jobs, Invoices, Quotes, Schedule, Inbox, Team
  3. The feed updates immediately

Screenshot: Activity feed filter bar showing toggle buttons for each category, with Jobs and Invoices toggled on (highlighted blue) and all others toggled off (gray), showing only job and invoice events in the feed below

Tip: Dispatchers should filter to Jobs and Schedule events. Business owners should keep Invoices and Quotes visible. This reduces noise and highlights what matters to your role.

How far back the feed goes

The activity feed shows events from the current day and the previous day by default. For older events, use the Reporting module or individual module history tabs.

Note: The activity feed shows events from all team members, not just your own actions. This is how you stay informed about what your entire team is doing.

Using the feed for daily management

Check the activity feed at key moments:

  1. Start of day -- See what happened overnight or early morning
  2. After lunch -- Catch up on the morning's activity
  3. End of day -- Review the full day's events before leaving
