Forward Emails to External Addresses
Learn how to forward conversation emails to external recipients and use CC/BCC for additional visibility.
What this guide covers
This guide explains how to forward emails from the JobsiteOn inbox to external addresses and how to use CC and BCC fields to include additional recipients on your replies.
By the end you will know how to:
- Forward a specific message from a conversation to an external recipient
- Add CC and BCC recipients to outgoing replies
- Understand what information is included in a forwarded email
Before you begin
- Your company email address must be configured in workspace settings
- You need inbox access enabled for your account
Forwarding a message
Forwarding lets you share a specific email from a conversation with someone outside of your JobsiteOn team, such as a subcontractor, supplier, or business partner.
Step 1 -- Open the conversation
Navigate to the Inbox and open the conversation containing the message you want to forward.
Step 2 -- Click Forward on the message
Hover over the specific message in the conversation thread and click the Forward button (or select Forward from the message's More menu).

Step 3 -- Enter the recipient
The forward compose area opens with the message content pre-filled. Enter the external recipient's email address in the To field. You can type an email address directly or search your contacts.
Step 4 -- Add context and send
You can add a note above the forwarded content to provide context for the recipient. For example:
Hi Tom,
See the message below from our customer about the material specs
for the Oak Street project. Can you confirm availability?
Click Send to forward the message. The forwarded email includes the original message content and any attachments.
Tip: Forwarded emails are sent from your company email address. The external recipient sees your company as the sender, maintaining a professional appearance.
Using CC and BCC on replies
When replying to a customer, you can include additional recipients using CC and BCC fields.
Adding CC recipients
Click CC near the To field in the reply compose area. Enter the email addresses of people you want to copy. CC recipients can see each other and the main recipient can see them.
Adding BCC recipients
Click BCC to reveal the blind carbon copy field. BCC recipients receive a copy of the email but are hidden from all other recipients.
Note: Use BCC carefully. If a BCC recipient replies to the email, their reply may go to all visible recipients, potentially revealing their involvement.
What is included in a forwarded email
A forwarded email includes:
- The original message body with formatting preserved
- All attachments from the original message
- A "Forwarded message" header showing the original sender, date, and subject
- Any additional note you add above the forwarded content
Internal notes and other team-only content are never included in forwarded emails.
