What this guide covers

This guide explains how to duplicate a pricebook item to quickly create variations. Duplicating saves time when you need similar items with slightly different names, prices, or descriptions.

When to duplicate

  • You offer the same service at different price points (standard vs. emergency).
  • You stock the same part in different sizes or brands.
  • You want to create a seasonal version of an existing service.

How to duplicate

  1. Navigate to /pricebook.
  2. Click the item you want to duplicate.
  3. Click the overflow menu (...) and select Duplicate.
  4. A new item form opens with all fields pre-filled from the original.
  5. Change the name and any other fields that differ.
  6. Click Save.

The new item appears in the pricebook as a separate entry.

What is copied

All fields are copied from the original:

  • Name, description, price, unit, cost, SKU, and category.
  • Pricing tiers (if any).
  • Default quantity.

What is not copied

  • Photos -- you need to upload a new photo if desired.
  • Usage history -- the new item starts with no linked quotes or invoices.

Tip: After duplicating, update the name immediately to distinguish it from the original. Names like "Drain Cleaning - Standard" and "Drain Cleaning - Emergency" are clear to your team.
