What this guide covers

This guide explains the difference between voiding and deleting a quote in JobsiteOn, when to use each option, and how they affect your records.

Void vs. delete

Action Use when Reversible Record preserved
Void The quote was sent but is no longer valid No Yes, marked as Voided
Delete The quote is a draft that was never sent No No, permanently removed

How to void a sent quote

  1. Open the quote detail page at /quotes/[slug].
  2. Click the overflow menu (...).
  3. Select Void Quote.
  4. Confirm the action in the dialog.
  5. The quote status changes to Voided.

What happens when you void:

  • The quote remains in your records with a Voided status badge.
  • The customer link at /q/[token] shows the quote as voided and the customer cannot accept it.
  • The void event is recorded in the activity log.
  • The voided quote is excluded from pipeline reporting.

How to delete a draft quote

  1. Open the draft quote at /quotes/[slug].
  2. Click the overflow menu (...).
  3. Select Delete Quote.
  4. Confirm the deletion.
  5. The quote is permanently removed from your workspace.

Note: Delete is only available for quotes in Draft status. Once a quote has been sent to a customer, you must void it instead of deleting. This preserves your communication history.

When to void vs. delete

Void when:

  • The customer requests you withdraw the proposal.
  • You sent a quote with errors and want to send a new one instead of editing.
  • The project is cancelled after the quote was sent.

Delete when:

  • You started a draft and no longer need it.
  • The quote was a test or practice entry.
  • The draft has no useful information worth keeping.

Tip: When in doubt, void instead of deleting. Voiding keeps the record for reference while clearly marking it as no longer active.

Best practices

  • Clean up draft quotes regularly to keep your list focused.
  • Void rather than leave old sent quotes in limbo. A clear status helps your team understand the pipeline.
  • Add a note before voiding to explain why the quote was withdrawn.
