What this guide covers

This guide explains how to duplicate a quote in JobsiteOn. You will learn what information carries over, how to modify the copy, and when duplication is the fastest way to create a new proposal.

When to duplicate a quote

Duplication saves time when:

  • You are quoting similar work for a different customer.
  • A customer requests a revised version of an existing quote.
  • You want to create a variation with different pricing or scope.

How to duplicate a quote

  1. Open the quote you want to copy at /quotes/[slug].
  2. Click the overflow menu (...) in the top right corner.
  3. Select Duplicate Quote.
  4. A new quote form opens with these fields pre-filled:
    • Title or scope description
    • All line items with quantities and prices
    • Notes and terms
    • Tax settings
  5. The contact and property fields are blank so you can assign the correct customer.
  6. Review and adjust the pre-filled details.
  7. Click Save to create the new quote as a draft.

What carries over

Included Not included
Title and scope Contact
Line items and pricing Property
Notes and terms Status (starts as Draft)
Tax configuration Expiration date
Optional item flags Send history

Tip: After duplicating, always review the line item pricing. If pricebook rates have changed since the original, the duplicated items retain the old prices.

Modifying the duplicate

After duplication, treat the new quote as a fresh proposal:

  1. Link the correct contact and property.
  2. Update line items, quantities, or prices as needed.
  3. Set a new expiration date.
  4. Add or remove optional items.
  5. Save, preview, and send when ready.

Note: The duplicated quote is completely independent from the original. Changes to one do not affect the other.

Best practices

  • Use duplication for one-off copies. If you frequently create the same type of quote, consider using quote templates instead.
  • Always update the title to distinguish the new quote from the original.
  • Review every line item before sending, even if the scope appears identical.
