Send Quotes via Client Link
Share a secure client link so customers can view, accept, or decline your quote online without needing to open an email attachment.
What this guide covers
This guide explains how to share quotes with customers using the client link in JobsiteOn. You will learn how the link is generated, how to share it through different channels, and what the customer experience looks like when they open it.
What is the client link
Every quote in JobsiteOn has a unique, secure URL that gives the customer access to view the proposal online. The link follows the format /q/[token] where the token is a randomly generated string that cannot be guessed.
The client link provides the customer with:
- A full view of the proposal with your branding.
- The ability to download the proposal as a PDF.
- Accept and decline buttons to respond directly.
How the link is generated
The client link is created automatically when you send a quote via email. You can also access it manually:
- Open the quote detail page at
/quotes/[slug]. - Click Copy Link in the action bar.
- The link is copied to your clipboard.

Sharing the link
You can share the client link through any channel:
- Email — When you use the built-in Send function, the link is included in the email automatically.
- Text message — Paste the link into an SMS to the customer.
- Messaging apps — Share via WhatsApp, Teams, or any other messaging platform.
- In person — Show the link on a tablet or phone during a face-to-face meeting.
Tip: Sharing via text message can be effective for customers who prefer mobile communication. The quote portal is fully responsive and works well on phones.
The customer experience
When a customer opens the client link:
- They see the full proposal with your company logo, branding, and all line items.
- They can scroll through the proposal to review the scope, pricing, and terms.
- A Download PDF button allows them to save a copy.
- Accept and Decline buttons appear at the bottom of the page.
- When the customer takes action, you receive a notification.

Link security
- Each link uses a unique token that is cryptographically generated.
- The link does not require the customer to create an account or log in.
- Only the specific proposal is accessible through the link. The customer cannot navigate to other records.
Note: Anyone with the link can view the quote. Share it only with the intended recipient. If a link is compromised, you can regenerate a new one by resending the quote.
Tracking customer engagement
When the customer opens the link:
- The quote status changes from Sent to Viewed.
- The view event is recorded in the quote activity log with a timestamp.
- You receive a notification that the customer has viewed the proposal.
Best practices
- Send the link via the built-in email function for automatic tracking.
- Use the copy link feature when you need to share through non-email channels.
- Follow up promptly when the status changes to Viewed, as the customer is actively considering your proposal.
- Set an expiration date on the quote so the link shows an expiry notice after the deadline.
