Schedule Events from the Job Detail Page
Create scheduled events directly from a job record so your events are automatically linked to the right job and customer.
What this guide covers
This guide explains how to create scheduled events directly from a job detail page in JobsiteOn. When you schedule from a job, the event is automatically linked to that job and the customer's information is pre-filled, saving you time and ensuring your schedule and job records stay connected.
By the end you will know how to:
- Create a new event from a job detail page
- Understand which fields are auto-filled from the job
- Assign a team member and set the time
- View scheduled events on the job detail page
Before you begin
- You need access to both the Jobs and Schedule modules in your workspace
- At least one job must exist in your system
- You should be familiar with the basic event creation process. See Create a New Scheduled Event for the fundamentals.
Why schedule from the job detail page?
Creating events from the schedule calendar works well for general scheduling, but when you are looking at a specific job, it is faster and more accurate to schedule directly from the job. The benefits include:
- Auto-linking -- The event is automatically connected to the job record
- Pre-filled fields -- Customer name, property address, and job reference are populated
- Contextual scheduling -- You can see the job scope and notes while choosing the date and time
- Centralized history -- All events for the job appear on its detail page
Tip: For jobs that require multiple visits (like a multi-phase project), scheduling from the job page keeps all related events organized in one place.
Step 1 -- Open the job detail page
Navigate to Jobs from the left sidebar and open the job you want to schedule work for. The job detail page shows the job summary, customer information, property address, and activity history.
Step 2 -- Click the Schedule action
Look for a Schedule or Add Event button on the job detail page. It is typically located in the action bar at the top of the page or in the activity/schedule section.
Click this button to open the event creation form with job context pre-filled.

Step 3 -- Review pre-filled fields
The event creation form opens with several fields already populated from the job:
- Job link -- The event is already associated with this job
- Customer -- The customer's name and contact information
- Location -- The property address from the job record
- Event title -- May be pre-set based on the job name or type
Review these fields and make any necessary adjustments.
Step 4 -- Set the date, time, and assignee
Complete the remaining fields:
- Date -- Select the date for the event
- Start time and End time -- Set the appointment window
- Event type -- Choose the type (Site Visit, Work, Follow Up, etc.)
- Assignee -- Select the team member or crew responsible
- Notes -- Add any additional instructions or context

Step 5 -- Save the event
Click Save to create the event. It appears on both the schedule calendar and the job detail page's event list.
Viewing events on the job detail page
After creating events from a job, they appear in the Schedule or Events section of the job detail page. This section shows:
- All events linked to the job in chronological order
- Each event's date, time, type, and assignee
- Status indicators for completed, upcoming, and cancelled events
Click any event to open its details or navigate to it on the schedule calendar.

Scheduling multiple events for the same job
For multi-phase projects, repeat the process to create additional events. Each event is linked to the same job, giving you a complete timeline of work on the job detail page. Use different event types to distinguish phases:
- Phase 1: Site Visit
- Phase 2: Work
- Phase 3: Follow Up
Note: Events created from the job page appear on the schedule calendar just like any other event. The only difference is the automatic job link and pre-filled data.
