What this guide covers

This guide explains the minimum password requirements for JobsiteOn accounts and provides best practices for creating and managing strong passwords.

Minimum requirements

Your password must meet all of the following:

  • At least 8 characters long.
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter (A-Z).
  • Contains at least one lowercase letter (a-z).
  • Contains at least one number (0-9).
  • Contains at least one special character (!@#$%^&*).

Password strength meter

When creating or changing your password, a strength meter provides real-time feedback:

  • Weak (red) -- meets minimum requirements only.
  • Fair (orange) -- exceeds minimum but could be stronger.
  • Strong (green) -- significantly exceeds requirements.
  • Very Strong (dark green) -- excellent password strength.

Best practices

Use a password manager

Password managers generate and store strong, unique passwords for every service. Recommended options: 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass.

Never reuse passwords

If one service is breached and you used the same password for JobsiteOn, your account is at risk. Unique passwords isolate each account.

Avoid personal information

Do not use your name, birthday, company name, or common words. These are easy to guess in targeted attacks.

Use passphrases

A passphrase like "correct-horse-battery-staple" is both strong and memorable. Add a number and special character to meet requirements.

Tip: Enable two-factor authentication in addition to a strong password. Even the strongest password can be compromised in a phishing attack, but 2FA provides a second layer of defense.

When to change your password

  • Immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • After receiving a data breach notification from any service.
  • Periodically (every 6-12 months) as a precaution.

Note: JobsiteOn does not enforce periodic password changes by default. Use your judgment based on your security needs.
