Why Did My Capture Report Fail to Generate?

Report generation runs in the background. Queued and Generating are normal; you can leave the builder. A notification arrives when the PDF is ready.
Capture retries temporary failures with bounded backoff. If a worker restarts, an expired claim is recovered without counting the abandoned attempt twice.
Open the report to see the safe failure summary, then choose Retry. Review:
Reports support large projects, including the documented 800-photo exception path, but a smaller audience-specific report is often clearer for a customer or adjuster.
An already frozen or issued report is immutable. Retrying or regenerating creates a new artifact and never changes the PDF someone previously received.
If repeated retries fail, record the Report number and time for support. Do not recreate the same draft repeatedly; its durable generation row is designed to recover.
