What this guide covers
How to connect a Gmail mailbox (a personal @gmail.com address or a Google
Workspace account at your own domain) and what stays in sync once it is
connected.
What you get
- Your Gmail in the JobsiteOn inbox. Mail from your Gmail Inbox and Sent
folders shows up in JobsiteOn, grouped by conversation.
- Changes go both ways. Mark a message read or unread, archive it, delete
it or star it in JobsiteOn and Gmail shows the same thing a few seconds
later. Do it in Gmail and JobsiteOn catches up within a minute when push is
on, and always within 15 minutes.
- Send as yourself. Replies, new messages, quotes, invoices and payment
reminders can go out from your own Gmail address and land in your Gmail Sent
folder. See Send from your Gmail address.
- Attachments. Files and pictures in synced mail open from JobsiteOn. They
stay in Gmail; JobsiteOn does not keep a copy.
- Jobs and customers in Google. An owner or admin can also put scheduled
jobs on a "JobsiteOn Jobs" calendar in Google Calendar and keep customers in
a "JobsiteOn" group in Google Contacts.
Before you begin
- Connecting a mailbox needs the Team plan or higher.
- Use the Google account that owns the mailbox you want in JobsiteOn.
- Google shows a screen listing what JobsiteOn asks for. Leave every box
checked: JobsiteOn cannot sync a mailbox with only some of them.
- Google Workspace accounts: if your company restricts third-party apps,
an admin has to allow JobsiteOn in the Google Admin console first.
Connect your mailbox
- Go to Settings, then Email & Inbox.
- Under Connected Mailbox, find Gmail and click Connect.
- Pick your Google account and sign in.
- Review what JobsiteOn asks for and click Continue.
- You land back in JobsiteOn. The first sync pulls the last 30 days of mail;
a large mailbox keeps loading in the background.

Send from your Gmail address
- In Settings, Email & Inbox, go to Send Client Emails From.
- Choose Connected Gmail.
From now on, email you send from JobsiteOn goes out from your Gmail address.
You can switch back to your JobsiteOn address at any time.
- Go to Settings, then Apps, and open Google.
- Click Connect next to Calendar or Contacts and sign in with the Google
account to use.
- Scheduled jobs appear on the JobsiteOn Jobs calendar in Google Calendar.
If you drag an event to a new time there, the job moves too.
- Customers appear in the JobsiteOn contact group. Edits you make there
come back into JobsiteOn.
Deleting a contact in Google never deletes the customer in JobsiteOn. It only
stops syncing that contact until the customer changes in JobsiteOn again.
What JobsiteOn can see
JobsiteOn reads your Inbox and Sent folders, the JobsiteOn Jobs calendar and
the JobsiteOn contact group. It does not read your other labels, other
calendars' event details or your other contacts. Tokens are encrypted, and
your Google password never reaches JobsiteOn.
Disconnect
- Go to Settings, Email & Inbox, Connected Mailbox.
- Click Disconnect next to Gmail.
- Leave Also remove the email synced from Gmail off to keep that mail as
customer history, or turn it on to remove it from JobsiteOn.
- Click Disconnect to confirm.
To remove JobsiteOn from your Google account as well, go to
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Troubleshooting
"Google hasn't verified this app"
JobsiteOn's Google review is in progress. While it is, only Google accounts
JobsiteOn has listed as testers can connect. Contact support to be added.
The mailbox shows "Reconnect needed"
Google ended the sign-in, usually after a password change, a security
checkup, or because JobsiteOn was removed from your account. Click
Reconnect. Your mail history stays.
"Reconnect Gmail and allow sending"
One of the boxes on Google's screen was unchecked. Reconnect and leave every
box checked.
