What this guide covers

This guide walks you through exporting report data to CSV files. You will learn how to set filters before exporting, where the file downloads to, and how to use the exported data in spreadsheet applications.

Before you begin

Step 1: Set your filters

Before exporting, configure the report to show exactly the data you need:

  1. Select the desired date range.
  2. Apply any status, team member, or category filters.
  3. Verify the table or chart shows the expected data.

Step 2: Export the file

  1. Click the Export button in the top-right area of the report.
  2. Select Export to CSV from the dropdown.
  3. The file downloads immediately to your browser's default download folder.

The file is named with the report type and date range, for example revenue-report-2026-03-01-to-2026-03-31.csv.

Step 3: Open the CSV

Open the downloaded file in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any spreadsheet application. The CSV includes column headers matching the report table.

What the export includes

Tip: Schedule a monthly routine to export the previous month's data. This creates a financial archive you can reference during tax season or business reviews.

Troubleshooting

The export file is empty

The active filters have no matching data. Widen the date range or remove filters and try again.

Numbers appear as text in Excel

Some versions of Excel treat CSV values as text. Use Excel's Text to Columns feature or import the file using the Data Import wizard to set the correct column types.
