Setting overtime rates

If your team earns a different rate for overtime:

  1. On the Rates tab, expand the Overtime section.
  2. Enter the Overtime Rate (e.g., 1.5x the standard rate).
  3. Set the overtime threshold -- the number of hours per day or week after which overtime applies.
  4. Click Save.

How rates are used

Hourly rates feed into:

  • Job costing -- calculating labor cost per job based on hours logged.
  • Profitability reports -- comparing labor cost against invoice revenue.
  • Payroll estimates -- providing a baseline for payroll planning.

Rates are internal and never shown to customers.

Rate history

When you change a rate, the previous rate is preserved in the rate history. This ensures past job cost calculations remain accurate.

View rate history by clicking View History on the Rates tab.

Tip: Review and update hourly rates at the start of each year or when compensation changes. Accurate rates give you reliable profitability data.

Note: Hourly rates do not replace your payroll system. They are used for internal cost analysis only.
