What this guide covers

This guide explains how to create crews in JobsiteOn. Crews let you group team members together for dispatch, making it easy to assign a full team to a job in one step instead of adding individuals.

What is a crew

A crew is a named group of team members who typically work together. Examples include:

  • Plumbing Crew A -- a lead plumber and two assistants.
  • Install Team -- specialists who handle new installations.
  • Emergency Response -- technicians on call for urgent jobs.

Creating a crew

  1. Navigate to /team.
  2. Click the Crews tab.
  3. Click New Crew.
  4. Enter the crew name.
  5. Select a crew lead from the dropdown.
  6. Add members by searching for team members and selecting them.
  7. Click Save.

Assigning crews to jobs

When creating or editing a job:

  1. In the Assigned To field, type the crew name.
  2. Select the crew from the suggestions.
  3. All crew members are added to the job at once.

The crew lead is shown as the primary assignee on the schedule.

Editing a crew

  1. Open the Crews tab on /team.
  2. Click the crew you want to edit.
  3. Update the name, lead, or member list.
  4. Click Save.

Changes apply to future job assignments. Existing jobs retain the assignment they were created with.

Removing a crew

  1. Click the overflow menu (...) on the crew row.
  2. Select Delete Crew.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a crew does not affect the individual team members or their existing job assignments.

Tip: Keep crews small and focused. A crew of 2-4 members is easier to schedule than a large group. Create separate crews for different types of work.

Note: A team member can belong to multiple crews. This is useful when someone splits time between different types of work.
