Assign Assets to a Job

From a job's detail page, assign equipment to the job so it appears on the jobsite check-in roster and the crew can check it in on site.

What this guide covers

This is the core asset-tag workflow: schedule a job, assign the equipment it needs, then have the crew check that equipment in on site. This guide covers the middle step — assigning assets to a job from its detail page — and shows how those assignments flow straight onto the jobsite check-in roster.

Note: Assigning and removing equipment is available to owners, admins, and managers. Crew members see the assigned equipment and check it in, but cannot change the assignment.

Step 1 — Open the job

Go to Jobs, open the job you're sending a crew to, and scroll to the Equipment & assets section on the job detail page. It shows everything currently assigned to the job and how many items are checked in on site.

Step 2 — Assign equipment

  1. In the Equipment & assets section, click Assign equipment.
  2. In the dialog, search by name, tag, or category to find the equipment you need.
  3. Check the box next to each item. You can select several at once.
  4. Click Assign (or Assign N assets).

The selected equipment is added to the job immediately.

Tip: Only equipment that isn't already on this job appears in the picker. If everything is greyed out or missing, it may already be assigned — close the dialog and check the list.

Step 3 — Track on-site status

Back in the Equipment & assets section, each assigned item shows its status:

A summary line at the top reads "X of Y checked in on site" so you can see at a glance whether the job has everything it needs.

Step 4 — The crew checks it in

Assigned equipment automatically appears on the jobsite check-in roster for the job. When the crew arrives, they check each item in — by scanning its tag or tapping it on the roster — and its status flips to On site.

Remove equipment from a job

If plans change, hover the item in the Equipment & assets section and click the remove (trash) button to unassign it. This takes it off the job and the check-in roster.
