Delete a Property
How to delete a property record, understand deletion requirements, and when to archive instead of delete.
What this guide covers
This guide explains how to delete a property record from JobsiteOn and when it is better to archive instead. Deletion is permanent, so understanding the requirements is important.
When to delete vs. archive
- Delete -- use when a property was created by mistake or is a duplicate. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Archive -- use when you no longer service a location but want to preserve the history. Archived properties can be restored.
Deletion requirements
A property can only be deleted if it has:
- No linked jobs -- active or completed.
- No linked quotes -- draft or sent.
- No linked invoices -- in any status.
If the property has any linked records, you must archive it instead.
How to delete a property
- Open the property at
/properties/[slug]. - Click the overflow menu (...) in the top-right corner.
- Select Delete Property.
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
Screenshot: The overflow menu open on a property detail page with the Delete Property option highlighted.
The property is removed permanently from the system.
How to archive instead
- Open the property at
/properties/[slug]. - Click the overflow menu (...).
- Select Archive Property.
Archived properties are hidden from the active list but remain
accessible under the Archived filter on /properties.
Tip: When in doubt, archive rather than delete. Archived properties preserve the full service history and can be restored at any time.
