Manage Notification Preferences
How to control which notifications you receive via email and in-app alerts, and how to reduce notification noise.
What this guide covers
This guide shows you how to manage your notification preferences. You will learn how to turn specific notification types on or off for both email and in-app delivery channels, and how to reduce noise while keeping the alerts that matter.
Before you begin
- Any authenticated user can manage their own notification preferences.
- Notification settings are personal and do not affect other team members.
Step 1: Open notification settings
- Go to
/settings. - Under the Account group, click Notifications.

Step 2: Review notification types
Each row represents a notification event:
| Notification | Description |
|---|---|
| Job Assigned | A job is assigned to you |
| Job Updated | A job you are assigned to is modified |
| Quote Accepted | A customer accepts a quote you created |
| Invoice Paid | A payment is recorded on your invoice |
| Payment Overdue | An invoice you created passes its due date |
| New Request | A customer submits a new service request |
| Team Mention | A colleague mentions you in a note |
| Schedule Change | Your schedule for the day changes |
Step 3: Toggle channels
Each notification type has two toggles:
- Email -- sends a notification to your account email address.
- In-App -- shows a notification bell alert within JobsiteOn.
Toggle each channel on or off based on your preference.

Step 4: Save
Click Save at the bottom of the panel. Changes take effect immediately.
Tip: If you are overwhelmed by notifications, start by turning off email for low-priority items and keeping only in-app alerts. You can always check in-app notifications when you open JobsiteOn.
Best practices
- Keep critical notifications on. Payment Overdue and New Request notifications should always be enabled for timely follow-up.
- Use in-app for high-frequency events. Job Updated can be noisy via email but useful as an in-app alert.
- Review during onboarding. Set preferences in your first week to avoid notification fatigue.
Note: Some system notifications (security alerts, billing issues) cannot be turned off. These are always delivered via email.
